Thoughts During Midterms Week
Ladies and gentlemen, I absolutely know the struggle. I have been there multiple times and let me tell you that it is not pretty. Yes, good old midterms week.
Thankfully, midterms week has passed for me. *What a relief*
In honor of one of my most stressful weeks so far, I have decided to dedicate this article to the unforgettable, midterms week.
It’s that point in the semester where your classes are getting a bit more challenging but hey, you’ve got this! So far, you’ve been passing everything in your class and have been on top of all of your assignments. You have high A’s and B’s and are feeling pretty confident about this semester. Piece of cake!
Next thing you know, your exams are coming up. You also have some essays to work on. But hey, you’ve totally got this under control!
There’s a moment when you realize that you should’ve started studying about 2 weeks ago or at least started an outline for your essay. You begin to panic just a little.
Your panicking eventually turns into tears after seeing all that you have to do. Yes, puffy red eyes and sobbing over school. You just have a breakdown by how overwhelmed you are.
You take a moment to contemplate your whole life and think of alternative options instead of college.
So what happens if I just decided not to do any work?
Why did I think that I was going to pass the semester with straight A’s?
Are Kim and Kanye adopting yet?
There’s a time when you realize that crying isn’t going to help you get any of your assignments done and that’s when you (finally) get to work!
It’s 2 AM and you’re almost done working on that paper! Only a couple of paragraphs more! But guess what? You haven’t even started working on your assignment for your online class. Also, what about those commitments to extracurriculars?
Your diet for the past couple of days has consisted of takeout food (because who has time to cook during such a stressful week) and coffee with about 2 or 3 shots of espresso (or more if you’re that kind of person).
That moment of satisfaction when you’re finished with all your assignments and tests…
…but then you realize that this was just midterms week and you have still have finals week to look forward to. Oh, and a couple of more semesters in college.
For those of you who are starting your midterms, I wish you the best of luck and I hope this made you smile at least a little bit!
