Job Description

We are seeking an accomplished accounting professional to fill the position of a staff accountant. This is a "hands-on" role where you will be asked to consistently and diligently partner with third-party outsourced groups and interact closely with department heads and senior management.

Specific Responsibilities:
- Perform month-end close procedures, including preparation of journal entries and
preparation of balance sheet account reconciliations. Be open to taking on new tasks as the role evolves.
- Oversee cash, expense reports and credit card activity, including monitoring daily cash
activity and preparing bank reconciliations. Accurately apply cash receipts as necessary.
- Support the outsourced Accounts Payable function acting as the point of contact for coding, approvals, payment processing and the automated data flow integrity across Open Invoice and Bolo
- Prepare a monthly cost allocation based on approved rates and time allocation. Record intercompany billing transactions and prepare intercompany invoices. Monitor collection on the related party and intercompany invoices.
- Ensure that estimates, accruals, prepayments, and allocations are calculated and supported with appropriate basis or backup, in accordance with US GAAP.
- Develop a solid knowledge of the general ledger structure, accounting system (Bolo) and peripheral systems (Open Invoice, FloQast) and become a key resource for the ERP related questions and research needs.
- Assist with the annual financial statement audit.
- Collaborate with other members of the accounting team in the overseas subsidiaries and the finance team, as well as cross-functionally with other departments, to ensure the completeness and accuracy of accounting records. This collaboration involves regular communication and coordination to align on financial processes, share critical information, and address any discrepancies.
- Seek process improvement opportunities to enhance efficiency, timeliness, and reduce redundancy.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 1 - 5 years of experience in financial accounting or financial analysis, preferably in the energy or E&P industry
- Strong knowledge of Bolo preferred
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial regulations
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving and communication skills
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite
