Job Description
Think getting paid to spend the entire summer by the pool sounds too good to be true? Think again! City of Thornton is hiring responsible, energetic, communicative people as lifeguards this summer.
If you're ready to take on a role that combines responsibility, teamwork, and the opportunity to contribute to the safety and enjoyment of our campers, we encourage you to apply for this vital position. Join us in making sure our aquatics areas are safe and welcoming for all who visit.
As a lifeguard, you must possess the following skills:
• Comfortable in and around open water and basic knowledge of the safety considerations
• Comfortable in deep water with basic ability to use watercraft (Surfboard, paddleboard, kayak)
• Ability to pass lifeguard prerequisite exam (550-meter open water swim, tread water without use of hands - 2 min, etc.)
• Experience working with, or teaching children preferred
• Red Cross Certification or WSI certification preferred but not essential
• 18+ years of age
