As a lifeguard, you must possess the following skills:
Comfortable in and around open water with a basic knowledge of safety considerations
Ability to navigate deep water and use watercraft such as surfboards, paddleboards, and kayaks
Pass lifeguard prerequisite exam, including a 550-meter open water swim and treading water without hands for 2 minutes
Prior experience working with or teaching children is preferred
Red Cross Certification or WSI certification is a bonus but not required
Must be at least 18 years old
