As a lifeguard, you must possess the following skills:
Comfortable in and around open water with basic understanding of safety precautions
Comfortable in deep water with basic watercraft usage ability (Surfboard, paddleboard, kayak)
Ability to pass lifeguard prerequisite exam (550-meter open water swim, tread water without hands for 2 mins, etc.)
Experience working with or teaching children preferred
Red Cross Certification or WSI certification preferred but not required
Must be 18 years of age or older
