White After Labor Day? Who Cares! Hints to Dressing Warm this Winter

Every winter, I find myself looking into my full closet and muttering something about how I have nothing to wear. I’m sure I’m not the only one who does this, but I do believe I have found a few tips to help those of you who feel the same way. Here are a few hints to get you through those blustery days.

Changing Seasons Doesn’t Mean Changing Wardrobes

Don’t think that you need to go out and buy a completely new wardrobe, unless you want to, then more power to you! You have everything you need in your closet to look cute and stay warm this winter.

Layers

We all know layers are great on any day, but what’s great about layering during the winter is it allows you to wear that cute little dress with tights or leggings underneath, a cardigan, and then a larger coat. Cardigans and sweaters are some of my favorite clothing items. Most stores sell them for extremely cheap and I would suggest buying them in all of your favorite colors. There are many kinds of cardigans that can go with almost any type of dress. Tights and leggings are great as well. Both go with multiple kinds of ensembles and keep your legs warm. Boots with high socks are also extremely in-style right now!

Long-Sleeve T-Shirts

Long-sleeve shirts and button downs can be used for more than just a shirt. They can be worn over or under other shirts. Long-sleeve tees can be worn under T-shirts to keep the arms warm, while button downs can be worn as another layer over most outfits. I wear my flannel button downs as a light sweater to be taken off before I go to work. They are convenient and come in all kinds of colors and patterns.

Accessories

Hats and scarves are always a good choice no matter the weather. Scarves can be arranged in so many different ways, many of which has step by step instructions on the internet and even YouTube videos dedicated to them. Plus, if the weather warms up, you can always take them off and store them in a purse or leave them in the car. They also make any outfit look that much more put together.

If You Like It, Wear It

If it feels good and looks good to you, go for it. White jeans and sweaters can always be worn, no matter if it’s August or November. Don’t let silly old ideas stop you from wearing what you want to wear.

Look cute and stay warm this winter!
