IES Abroad Berlin Summer Urban Studies & Culture
The IES Abroad Berlin Summer Metropolitan Studies & Urban Studies give you the opportunity to learn about topics in Urban Studies, Architecture, and Environmental Studies in Berlin, which has altered and rebuilt itself over the past century. Field studies are integrated into the course work to provide an up close and personal look at the city's architectural modernizations, approaches for integrating sustainable design, and important historical and political movements.
Built on a tumultuous past and rebuilt over the past century, Berlin constantly changes and keeps reinventing itself. Today, the city is a hot spot for the arts, sciences, and alternative lifestyles. At the same time, it is a lab for urban planning, sustainable architecture, and environmentally friendly mobility.
The program closes with field study trips to critical sites within Germany.
